I've got a multitude of things to discuss but I totally feel very disorganised . Hence , I won't be exploring each and every thought that I wanted to discuss but rather , lets see my flow of thoughts first . Circumstance may vary .. yea ?.
Oh yes , I've become particularly very busy with something . Honestly I rarely got time for myself . Haha , well my blog may be the testament to this . Yikes .
Yeah , pictures coming up . Do scroll down .
Before I begin , I would like to rant more about a certain discussion . I remembered typing an entry on purchasing a business during the bad times ( ie. recession period ) . Ok , when one is planning to invest in a business , yes , you need to look at a firm's financial records , goodwill , good returns and all . However investing in a business and purchasing a business is 2 different process .
For an example , when you decide to invest in a business , you can look at a few investment appraisal methods - namely : 1) Average Rate of Return ( ARR ) , 2) Net Present Value ( NPV ) and 3) Payback method . Frankly I have got no patience so I would go for the latter . But #2 is the best investment appraisal method because it accounts for the change in money value over the period you wait for your returns . Yes , but apart from knowing how to increase your market itself , you need to know a few issues too . I mean nothing seems as direct and simple . It have alot of unwritten work to be done .
While buying over a business is different . When the times are bad , you can literally see a few businesses closing down and a few others offering extremely cheap offers to potential buyers . If you're smart enough , you can tap onto those businesses . Buy them over . Use your own brain juice to come up with something extremely innovative . Get a cheaper alternative to publicise your business ( I know of a few certain ways ) , find the niche , segment the markets - target a few markets ( this is quite difficult ) and etc ... don't you think you will make easy money as the day progresses ? . I mean business is all about risk-taking . I was taught to take calculated risk . Calculated risk differs from taking risk itself .
Anyways , I was somewhat attached to this organisation called " Redwoods Advances " . Honestly , one of the best organisations that I ever been to . I totally love the company's culture . The manager - Adrian Chua is extremely innovative and smart . Redwoods Advances is actually one of Singapore's most profitable organisation . They help to market a few ' High-flying ' organisation's products . I don't wish to name those organisations for some reasons . So during the bad times , those high-flying companies pay a even more higher sum of money to Redwoods Advances to market their products . See I told you - this recession certainly benefits an array of other organisations like Redwoods Advances . Yeah .
The best thing is , alot of people were interviewed on the same day as me and I was apparently the lucky one to be chosen . I think I know the reasons why I was selected . So yes . I went for the training and many were very impressed with my answers . I mean I love Economics and Management of Business and I love those subjects because I know that they are highly applicable to the real world . So most of my answers were related to those subjects . Haha .. since I had my own knowledge , I could easily understand a few complicated stuff and provide answers . And it's very pleasing when your trainers call you " wah , you're very smart " or " smart girl " . Hopefully this will show up in my results . I am freaking scared for my A levels results .
But the sad part is , I am not going to continue working there . Firstly , I was sent by Redwoods Advances to represent HSBC bank to help increase their market sales of credit cards during events and road shows . Although I hate striking conversations with complete strangers , I decided to give it a shot and I did approach as many as 40 customers to sell those cards . Obviously most would turn you down flatly . And I realised that it is definitely going to be an uphill task to get people to buy credit cards during the recession period . And -- basic salary + commission + bonus = to my accumulated salary . I know that my accumulated salary would be much lower as compared to others if I don't get enough commission and bonus . And I seriously got no hope of increasing my commission and bonus anytime now . And I'm definitely not going to be happy with my basic salary . I am planning to earn as much as possible for some very strange reason . I mean apart from personal expenses , I want to save up alot .. i mean this recession is forecasted to drag for the next 3 years . I hope you get the drift . So I need to save up alot if I want to be business-minded .
Sometimes , its very tiring . But no matter what , life has to go on .
