WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !! Manchester United lifted the cup again - the 10th time . Oh man . All my fellow red devils supporters were screaming in delight . Gayatri Devi , Logesh , Govan and a few other people and I cheered for our beloved club . This is so cool . Yeah baby . We're the red devils indeed . Sir Alex Ferguson - the best manager . You know , to every red devil fans the brand AIG means Alex Is God . That was a solid slap right onto the faces of every Chelsea fans . ( Actually I am not anti Chelsea nor Liverpool . I personally hate Arsenal ) . Now Manchester United is up against Chelsea in the Champions League that will be held in Moscow . I am planning to catch the match and skip school or go to school with heavy eye bags . Haha .

Millennia Institute has the chance of winning it's 2nd Challenge trophy for the year . We got into the CJC - singing and dancing finals . We are yet to know our Essay writing results . But as far , we are the only institute to enter every competition .


I am particularly happy for my beloved Gayatri Devi . She's into the Finals !! . Oh my . I can't wait for her final song . I begged her to sing this song for the finals and this is her ultimate personal BEST song . OH MY GOD . I am freaking excited ! . I'm getting my whole clique to attend , so JINX if you happen to be free , do tag along too . I mean you need to witness her display of talent(s) . Sadly you had none , so this may encourage you . But then again , how can I compare a lonkang to a temple ? ( the temple being Gayatri Devi of course ) . GO GAYATRI D !! WOOOO . The whole world is going to be mesmerised by that song . I can't wait for 26th of may .


DIALOGUE SESSION WITH THE HEALTH MINISTER - MR KHAW BOON WAN


Alright . Today we had the dialogue session with the health minister - Mr Khaw Boon Wan . Mr Singh was trying his best to mentally prepare us for the talk . Haha . He kept reiterating the fact that we were the first batch to have this rare opportunity to come this upclose with a Member of the Parliament ( MP ) and also the first batch to engage in a conversation with a MP . So we were expected to put up our best behaviour .


Mr Khaw Boon Wan discussed an array of topics - of most 3/4 of them greatly inclined towards the Healthcare in Singapore ( and around the world ) . He addressed a few issues . 4-5 questions were asked today . I asked one of them . I shall blog it out here .


My question was ..


"A very good morning Mr Khaw . You mentioned earlier that the healthcare is becoming increasingly expensive ( like in the US ) . This global phenomenon of the rising healthcare cost looks inevitable with the increasing standard of living and life expectancy .


In such a case , what are the qualities do you think that the next health minister need in order to face such global challenges ? " .


Frankly , I don't really know what was his reply . He basically didn't answer my question . He was beating around the bush . He was agreeing to my statement and ignored my question . I think its a good attempt to beat around the bush because it makes one forget his/her own question .


Anyway this is the snippets of what he said :


- Extending the poor life is a great cost
- The premium keeps going up that it affects the employers
- " The goverment is just a creature , not a magician " . it's You and Me who pay the Tax .
- The more you want , the more you have to pay
ANYWAY I kind of deduce that this might be his answer - " Honest politicians who deliver what they say " .


He merely touched the surface and he didn't even go in depth . But then again , I understand . Anyway Mrs Mary Choy drafted a question and I were to ask it . It goes something like " What are the qualities do you think that the next PM should have in order to face the challenges " . Actually I didn't understand the implications of it . When I met she , she told me and I understood . Mrs Mary Choy is one hell of a smart woman !! . Haha .


A few highlights of what he discussed today :


1) Singapore will be a Medical Hub despite the influx of cheaper medical services elsewhere in the world


2) They do this thing called " Selecting patients who carry minimum risk "


3) HIV statistics are purely empirical - they have direct impact on the African's life expectancy


4) Nobody can give a fixed age for ageing . I mean , when do you really start ageing ? . It varies


5) Mr Khaw discussed about the U-shaped recovery (economic) approach that it currently adopted . He mentioned that the V-shaped recovery is too rapid .


6) On a whole , he dropped a subtle hint . Mr Tan ( our principal ) mentioned that we were the graduating batch and Mr Khaw said this we need to try and break into the global market trying to be " world class leaders " . Apparently , competition is definitely high but the opportunities are plentiful . So technically , the smart ones attain those while the rest have to die .. Gosh !.


ANYWAY , this is locking . Check this out . I am going to learn this soon .
